Baraboo local Bill Meissner enthusiastically forecasts the publication of his recent book and 1st novel Spirits in the Grass.

Bill Meissner is a career singles hitter who at last is swinging for the fences. This month, Meissner celebrates the publication of his 1st novel, Spirits in the Grass. You must sort of carry it thru that entire series of episodes, Meissner claimed, and keep all the plates spinning. Spirits in the Grass is about Luke Tanner, a thirty-something ballplayer helping to build a new diamond in his hometown. He intends to try out for the local newbie team, but his discovery of a bone fragment on the field sets in motion a sequence of events that transforms the community. Its set in Clearwater, a Wisconsin city bearing striking likenesses to Baraboo. The book touches on the person Mound, Demons Lake and Wisconsin Dells. Thats the great thing about a novel, you can take any setting and put your story into it, Meissner announced.

He does tie plenty of Baraboo things to things he writes, related Cady, a local Realtor. The flavour of small-town things keeps cropping up. He played Yank Legion baseball in Baraboo for the late Harry Saloutos. Today, Meissner plays pickup games with the Catch and Release Baseball Club in St Cloud, Minn. Even in grade college he used to draft all sorts of stories. He has won countless awards in writing 2 books of fiction and 4 books of poetry. Meissner asserted writing the novel took 7 years of intermittent work. His challenge was to gasp life into multiple conflicts concurrently.

Meissner studied Yankee Indian archaeology so he could write authoritatively on the topic. You should make it appear plausible and authoritative. If you do not have some details, folks think you are just making up a large amount of stuff. Meissner had started and stopped 6 other books, but Spirits in the Grass asked completion. Folks will enjoy the characters and the conflict, Meissner announced. The tale announces a lot about who you are and what your life is about. Barnes and Noble will carry the book in stores and online. Kurt Vonnegut Jnr called Meissner a storyteller with outstanding gifts. This rookie writer is playing in the gigantic leagues. Its been a goal for ages, Meissner declared of publishing a novel. Its going to be actually sweet when it comes out. Baraboo local Bill Meissners new book Spirits in the Grass is revealed by School of Notre Lady Press.
